A native New Yorker with Caribbean roots and a spiritual upbringing, Nabil Viñas is a culturally mixed and culturally rich artist who grew through hip-hop & soul music before discovering his most fulfilling outlet as an actor.

His independent films have screened at New York Film Festival (Film at Lincoln Center), HBO’s NY Latino Film Festival, and many others worldwide. He’s won awards for his performance in “The Cat’s Cradle” (short film), and his feature film “Tomorrow Ever After” screened theatrically in select cities, earning critical acclaim in major press.

With a background in theatre, Nabil is an ensemble member of Barefoot Theatre Company, official member of Poetic Theater Productions, co-founding member of The Seven Collective, and frequent collaborator with TÉA Artistry.

Nabil is a 2021 Cine Qua Non Lab Resident and 2019 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Screenwriting from The New York Foundation for the Arts. His feature screenplay “Los Malos” is in development, and his short film “Come Back Hailey” earned festival screenings in NYC and secured international distribution.

An advocate for a more holistic approach to education, Nabil currently trains and coaches educators in New York City through Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility.
